Placenta Encapsulation

It is not often that we have the opportunity to nourish our body with ingredients that were made specifically for us. Encapsulating your placenta gives you this unique possibility. As you grow your baby, your placenta grows along with you. During this time your placenta collects nutrients and hormones that are specific to your body.  Using your placenta supplementally after childbirth gives you numerous possible benefits. Many women report having decreased postpartum mood disorders, an increase in oxytocin, more energy, and a better sense of wellbeing. Placenta encapsulation may help you to restore your iron levels after the blood loss experienced from childbirth. It may also help you to establish a more vigorous milk supply. Nourish your body with a supplement that is made by you, just for you.

The Process

The method used for placenta encapsulation includes thoroughly cleaning the placenta and dehydrating it at a low temperature over a long period of time. It is ground into a fine powder, and placed into capsules. The temperature at which the placenta is dehydrated and the amount of time it is dehydrated ensures that any bacteria is killed (including GBS) but helps to preserve as many nutrients as possible.  Strict OSHA standards and Blood Borne Pathogen protocols are followed throughout the placenta encapsulation process. Only 1 placenta is processed at a time, and the space is rigorously cleaned and disinfected between clients according to BBP and OSHA standards.

Pick Up and Delivery

Your placenta will be picked up from your birthplace within 8 hours after delivery. It will be kept at the correct temperature until the encapsulation process begins. You are responsible for keeping your placenta on ice or refrigerated until it is picked up. Your capsules will be delivered to the address of your choice within 3 days after receiving your placenta. (It is not recommended to start taking the capsules until after your milk comes in around day 3-5.) You will receive full written and verbal instructions for taking your capsules. If you choose to have an umbilical cord keepsake made this will also be delivered at this time.

If you have questions about the process please reach out. I love to answer questions and to make sure the process will go as smooth as possible. Once you receive your placenta capsules any and all follow up questions will be answered personally and are included with the service. I can be reached at 954-347-8644
